During the modifcation of an existing vessel a moonpool was incorperated in the ship. For the opening and closing of the moonpool doors, the customer wanted hydraulic cylinders and a appurtenant manifold. The cylinders and the manifold had to be easy to connect to the existing hydraulic system.
Muns Techniek designed the cylinders and the manifold completely according to the specifications of the customer. The manifold has the possibility to close the moonpool in an emergency situation. In order to make this possible, an hydraulic accumulator was included into the system.
The manifold and cylinders have been tested extensively in our workshop by connecting them to the control cabinet of the customer. The system reacted as it should and cylinders can be moved according the commands issued by the control system.
