In some waters it is not uncommon to find explosives in the soil. This can be a major problem for dredgers. Our customer asked our assistance to develop a system that was capable of finding these explosives, using a subsea magnetometer.
For this to work, the sensor will have to be near the soil at all times. This means that the sensor will have to be lifted and lowered depending on the changing water depth as the vessel moves along. Our engineers developed the hydraulic system and appurtenant controls to keep the sensor in the right position.
The system is using winches to lower and raise the sensor into the water. Subsequently the sensor remains in the right position to search for bombs in the soil.
Ever since 1991, we are developing and producing complete high-quality hydraulic systems and controls, whether these are standardized or custom made.
Our strength lies particularly in the development of hydraulic systems with intelligent control. These systems are being used in dredging, marine and offshore industry as well as in industrial applications.
